Special Educational Needs

Our school is proud of our ethos of inclusion and our determination to achieve the highest standards possible for all pupils.  This includes pupils with Special Educational Needs.  These can fall into different categories:

  • Physical Disabilities;
  • Learning Needs;
  • Behavioural & Emotional Needs;
  • A combination of those above.

Mrs Kennedy is our school Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).  She is tasked with managing the day to day workings, as well as the strategic development, of our Special Educational Needs' provision.

Mr Bailie (Principal), however, retains overall responsibility of the Special Educational Needs in the school.

The Board of Governors have nominated Mrs McClean as the 'Champion' Governor for Special Educational Needs.

Please read the policy attached below to see an outline of how we support pupils with additional needs and their families.
