Child Protection

Protecting our pupils' rights and happiness.
Protecting our pupils' rights and happiness.

We believe that to keep our pupils safe is our core responsibility.

The school has a robust policy and procedures to protect our pupils.

The Designated Child Protection Teacher is Mrs Watson (Year 7 teacher).

In the main school Miss Hasson (Year 1) and Mr Harris (Year 6) act as Deputy Designated Teachers for Child Protection.

Mrs Spratt (Nursery Leader) is the Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection with responsibility for the nursery unit.

As well as being available to deal with specific child protection issues they have a wider remit.  This role includes:

  1.  Ensuring the school's policies and procedures are consistent with recommended standards;
  2.  Providing training to staff in dealing with safeguarding issues;
  3.  Making themselves and their roles known to all stakeholders, especially the pupils;
  4.  Equipping pupils to keep themselves safe and how to ask for help when required.
