Learning Support
Learning Support is a broad term we use to describe how we scaffold the learning of a wide range of pupils.
Learning support may be offered to the following groups:
- A focus class or year of pupils;
- Pupils who are not reaching their potential (this may include high ability pupils);
- Pupils who have specific learning or/and behaviour needs;
- Pupils who have English as an additional language;
- Pupils who are gifted and talented.
These pupils may receive short term interventions to help them reach their learning goals.
The school offers the following interventions to support pupils' learning:
- Reading Partners (Year 3 and 4);
- Numicon Intervention (Year 3 to 7);
- Accelerated Reading Year 5 Booster Project;
- Literacy Withdrawal Groups;
- Numeracy Withdrawal Groups;
- Additional Classroom Assistant Support;
- Time for Me (Pastoral Support & Life Skills).
