What is S.T.E.M.?

S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  The Government and the Department of Education have challenged all schools to help all our pupils embrace the future opportunities of the modern economy.

As a school we are striving to provide this type of experience for our K.S.2 pupils.  Every Wednesday, working with the pupils and staff from St. James's Primary School, our pupils take part in S.T.E.M. workshops.  Pupils work in groups of approximately fifteen.  They complete four seven week modules in Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7.  They study areas such as robotics, coding, engineering, gardening, health education and 'Mad' science.

We are very pleased by our progress in developing our S.T.E.M. curriculum.  It is our hope that in the years to come that we will inspire many of our pupils to pursue and succeed in careers within S.T.E.M.
