International Remembrance Assembly

10th Nov 2017

This year for the first time we were kindly invited to attend a Service of Remembrance at Hazelwood Integrated College. This trip provided a valuable experience for our children and enabled them to mark Remembrance Day in an enjoyable and memorable way. As well as a dramatic performance, there was a choir and staff from a college in Toronto. Ellie and Logan thanked Mrs O'Hara for our invitation and presented her with a selection of war and peace poems that we had written this week.

I thought the play was very interesting and entertaining. All of the actors and actresses were so good they good be in movies. We also learnt about the famous poem in Flanders Fields that was written by the Canadian, Dr John McCrea. This was read out by the visiting pupils from Toronto. Someone dressed as a soldier played the last Post on the bugle and that was my favourite part. Jessica Richmond.

I was blown away by the commitment that Hazelwood had put into the Remembrance Day Assembly. Grace Weir
